Time For You To Think About What You Don’t Think About
(And Why It’s Your Creative Superpower)
Do you ever—
(Pause – Tilt head)
Think about what you don’t think about?
I do.
All the damn time.
And it’s a BLAST—
A wild, wiggly dive into the secret corners of my mind
I can actually feel my Air crackle and my Fire flare!
Suddenly, I’m swimming in a sea of endless streams of possibilities—
A trillion tiny universes I didn’t even know were there.
Like—
I’m not thinking about the island owner hunting for a housekeeper to sweep her sandy floors.
I’m not pondering about one parched guy dreaming of one clean, cool cup of water— Just one— To sip and sigh over.
Nope.
Not on my radar.
But it’s on someone’s.
Right now.
Someone’s chewing on that thought like it’s their whole world—
And- to them – it is.
So what am I thinking about?
What’s buzzing in my brain?
Here’s the kicker—
I only think about what I’m concerned about.
The stuff with friction.
The grit.
The pull.
Not the smooth, easy, everywhere things—
Like my next breath (it’s just there),
Or the water in my glass (hello, tap!),
Or the walk across the room (arms and legs? Check!).
No—
I’m hooked on the edges,
The wants,
The worries—
The “What’s next?”
If I made a million a year,
I’d be obsessed with the next million—
Where’s it coming from?
How do I grab it?
If I made fifty grand,
I’d be pacing—
Will it keep flowing? How do I stretch it?
We’re wired that way—
You, me, all of us—
Chasing the concerns that light us up or keep us up.
And here’s where it gets juicy—
This is the secret sauce of your creative fire.
When you’re spinning a story,
Crafting a character,
Building a world—
You’ve gotta climb inside their head,
Crawl into their heart,
And ask:
What are THEY concerned about?
Not you.
Not me.
THEM.
Is it love—
Or the fear of losing it?
Is it freedom—
Or the cage they’re clawing out of?
Do they crave the spotlight—
Or dread its glare?
Are they wrestling foes—
Or wrestling themselves?
Friend? Foe?
Healthy? Toxic?
Want it—don’t want it—want it anyway?
That’s the tension.
That’s the pulse.
That’s the story.
But wait—
Flip it—
What are they not thinking about?
The breath they don’t notice?
The water they take for granted?
The freedom they assume?
That’s the goldmine—
The blind spot—
The soft spot—
The oh damn spot—
Where empathy blooms,
Where truth hides,
Where your art gets REAL.
Like Really REAL.
This is why working with me is a riot—
A wild, soul-shaking, laugh-out-loud ride.
We’ll dig into what you don’t think about—
The stuff you skip,
The stuff you miss—
And turn it into rocket fuel.
You’ll dance with your concerns,
Play with your blind spots,
And unleash creations so alive they’ll leap off the page—
Or the stage—
Or wherever you let them loose.
It’s fun—
Messy—
Magic—
And it’s YOU,
Unleashed.
Spend a minute Today—
Right now—
Thinking about what you don’t think about.
Let it swirl.
Let it spark.
Watch the doors fling wide—
Empathy rushing in,
Kindness spilling out,
Inclusivity wrapping you up like a warm, weird hug.
That’s the yummy stuff—
The stuff that makes life sing,
The stuff that makes art soar.
And if you’re hungry—
Really hungry—
To dive deeper,
To play harder,
To create wilder—
Come join me.
My Creative Class—
Come Breathe with Me—
This is where we turn this spark into a bonfire.
